How The Wellness Journal is funded
The Wellness Journal is a reader-supported editorial publication. We do not sell advertising space, we do not accept sponsored posts, and we do not run display advertising on our articles. We fund our work through affiliate relationships with a small number of product companies whose products fit within the editorial topics we cover.
An affiliate relationship means that if a reader clicks a link on our site to a recommended product and then purchases that product, we may receive a commission from the manufacturer or retailer. This commission is paid by the company, not by the reader. The price paid is the same whether someone uses our link or not.
Current affiliate relationships
At the time of this update, we have affiliate relationships with the following companies:
ProDentim — a chewable oral probiotic discussed in our editorial overview of the oral microbiome research. We earn a commission on qualifying sales made through our referral links.
Yu Sleep — a plant-based sleep support formula discussed in our editorial overview of the sleep pressure research. We earn a commission on qualifying sales made through our referral links.
This list will be updated as relationships are added or ended.
How we decide what to cover
We follow these rules, without exception:
Affiliate relationships are never allowed to change editorial conclusions. If a company offers an affiliate partnership and the editorial team does not believe the product fits within our coverage standards, we decline.
We do not accept payment for coverage. Several companies have offered flat fees, bonuses, or promotional budgets in exchange for favorable coverage. We have declined all such offers.
We disclose affiliate relationships clearly. Every article that contains affiliate links includes a disclosure at the top of the page. Our affiliate disclosure banner appears at the top of every page on the site.
We do not promise specific results. Editorial articles describing health, wellness, or supplement topics are written as research overviews, not as guaranteed-outcome promises. Individual results vary, and we say so explicitly throughout our coverage.
What this means practically
When you read a product reference on this site, you can assume:
We may earn a commission if you purchase through our link. The editorial discussion of the product was written based on the research and information available, independent of any commercial relationship. The existence of a commission is something readers are reasonably entitled to know about, and we are disclosing it accordingly.
For readers who prefer not to use our affiliate links, the products we discuss can be searched and purchased directly without using our links. The price is the same either way.
What this site is not
The Wellness Journal is not a medical practice. We do not provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, or recommend treatments for individual health situations. Our articles are editorial overviews of public research, intended for general readers who want to understand what the science says.
For specific health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare provider. For order support, billing, or refund questions about products discussed in our articles, please contact the product manufacturer or retailer directly.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). Material connections between this publication and any product or service mentioned herein are disclosed in this policy and within the relevant articles.
